School Council
Shorefields school council is made up of an elected member from each class from year 7 up to the Year 14. The school council meets regularly throughout the year to share their views and opinions, to make decisions about different aspects of school life which impact upon all our students
The school council is an important part of our school and it is there to give our pupils a voice. One of the main principles of our school council is the importance of communication. So that all pupils are able to communicate their views we will use objects, photos, symbols, signs and individual communication aids to allow all our students to be active members and make their views clear.
We are also part of the multi-schools council which works in partnership with others schools to help promote positive relationships for students with specialist educational needs and disabilities.

Tendring Youth Awards-2022
This year the school council were nominated and shortlisted for their work around the Queens Jubilee Superbloom garden project in collaboration with the Tower of London. School councillors worked to transform an area of the school garden, decorate corridors, take part in art activities and visit the tower. A small selection of students were able to attend the Tendring Youth Awards with staff to receive their shortlisted certificate for "Community Invovlemnt", a fantastic achievement for all our pupils!
