Shorefields is a special needs school in Clacton-on-Sea in Essex, for 140 pupils ages 3-19 years with a range of complex, severe and profound learning needs, including a high percentage on the autistic spectrum.
We provide personalised flexible learning programmes and therapies to support children and young people with statements of special educational needs and education health and care plans.
As part of our annual careers week we would like to have career related vehicles come onto the playground. This will give our young people the opportunity to have a closer look at these interesting and useful modes of transport. Last year we had 3 visiting vehicles and the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This year we would like to have more if possible. This could include emergency and commercial vehicles, building plant (dumpers, diggers and JCB's) ice cream van, post van, farming equipment or anything else that you think the students would enjoy seeing. Not only will our young people get to see the vehicles, they will also get the opportunity to talk to the people who use them and find out what their job involves. If you work with any type of vehicle or know someone who does and would be available to come into the school on the morning of the 28th January 2020, we would love to hear from you.
